Program Advisor- Dr. Cathleen Golden

The Associate of Science in Applied Technology program permits students to move from a vocational-technical diploma program to the associate degree to the bachelor’s degree seamlessly. This program complements the technical studies provided by post-secondary programs of vocational-technical schools by building upon college-approved technical courses as students pursue specialized technical occupations in fulfillment of a minimum 60-credit degree requirement. The Applied Technology program will afford graduates a level of knowledge which will permit them to assume more responsible employment positions than those for which they would be prepared by virtue of their diploma alone.

Graduates of the Applied Technology program will:

  1. demonstrate proficiency in a specified vocational field;
  2. effectively communicate, both in writing and orally, personal and professional knowledge and opinions;
  3. develop critical thinking in the context of the liberal arts; utilize quantitative and technical skills in the acquisition and application of knowledge;
  4. identify and assess the influence of differing values and cultures on oneself and on society as a whole;
  5. broaden one’s awareness of the moral and theological components of contemporary culture and of one’s personal view of life; and
  6. build a foundation for further study and enhance employment opportunities.
