HPGA 355 - Modern America: Cold War to the Present

This course studies society, culture, and politics from 1932 to the present, beginning with the New Deal and how it transformed the American state. The course then covers World War II, the atomic age and the Cold War, domestic issues in the fifties and sixties, such as the Civil Rights Movement, the United States’ involvement in Vietnam, changing gender roles, and contemporary issues.
