ENGL 335 - Literary Themes and Perspectives

3 Credits


Literary Themes and Perspectives introduces students to works of literature organized by theme, topic, or a specific cultural or historical perspective. Students will practice close reading and the course will require writing and other presentation exercises that develop critical thinking, research, and argument-driven writing skills. Assignments will include essays, quizzes, and oral presentations. This course may be repeated up to two (2) times without repeating a given topic. This course meets the upper level literature requirement for bachelor degree programs. Prerequisite: ENGL 110 ; ENGL 210 . Course can be repeated upwards of three times with varied course topics.

  • Women Writers

  • Literature of Health and Healing

  • Jewish Literature

  • North American Native Literature

  • Multicultural Perspectives in Literature
