NUR 305 - Introduction to Professional Nursing Practice 2 Credits Students are introduced to professional nursing values, practice standards, the nurse practice act, and the role of the professional nurse. This course provides an overview of the various levels of health care services provided by professional nurses and introduces students the professional nursing role. Students will also examine personal versus professional values, culturally competent care, ethical/legal issues, professional nursing organizations, and theories relevant to nursing practice. Pre-requisite: Matriculation to nursing coursework or permission of the Department Chair.
