NUR 401 - Capstone: Leadership in Professional Nursing 3 Credits This course introduces students to the principles of nursing leadership and management through an understanding of leadership competencies in the delivery of quality health care. Emphasis will be placed on five core competencies: providing patient-centered care, working in interdisciplinary teams, employing evidence-based practice, applying quality improvement, and utilizing informatics. Decision making, change and innovation, teamwork and collaboration, management process, leadership, and operational skills are studied. Prioritization of care, delegation, quality improvement, and personnel performance are addressed. Pre-requisite: NUR NUR 400 . Co-requisite: NUR 450 .
