NUR 310 - Nursing Assessment 3 Lecture/1 Lab/4 credits This course provides students with beginning knowledge and skills needed to assess the health status of the person across the lifespan. Basic health assessment techniques for the purpose of determining a client’s health status are introduced. Students learn to conduct a comprehensive health history and physical assessment on patients across the lifespan. Students will demonstrate competency in the use of inspection, palpation, percussion and auscultation when performing physical examination, the ability to recognize and interpret normal and abnormal assessment findings, and recognize and document health assessment variations in clients throughout the life span. Pre-requisite: Matriculation to nursing coursework or permission of the Department Chair.
