ENVS 240 - Environmental Justice, Security, and Sustainability 3 Credits Environmental justice is a framework for analyzing the intersection of social justice and environmental stewardship. Students will explore the political, scientific, and ethical issues underpinning environmental justice and develop the ability to critically analyze issues of environmental justice. This course is designed using the Science Education New Civic Engagement and Responsibilities model, with students actively discussing reading materials and practicing community building and leadership beyond the classroom. Prerequisites: PLSC 203 and any BIOL/CHEM/NASC 100 level course.
